Joe Scherb Enjoying the new year, looking forward to spring

So fall has come around Chicagoland with it is dark mornings and early evenings. This also brings the cooler weather. The combination, and a lack of attention to detail, created a strange situation for me.

I've got a dark pair of sweats pants that I've been using. Also, I recently lost my favorite sweat jacket, so I bought a new, blue zip-up hooded sweatshirt. I saw a strange thing while running this week. As I came around the lake I saw a deer about 30 yards out into the near freezing water. It was probably a half mile swim across the lake, so I expected it to turn back, but it swam across. I stopped my run for 10 minutes to watch.
