Jim... impressive results from the slow training. My goal for this year is to run a 5k in under 25 minutes but I can't seem to convince myself to train at 12 minute miles.
my goal was 2:05-2:08. I did better because I ran with some friends and we kept each other moving. I think I could have gone faster but not sure I would have lost steam in the end and slowed down as I usually do.
Hi Dan. What has your friend been doing about his/her shin splints? For me, icing and resting works the best. I am doing those shin exercises in that article I linked to in my blog. I've heard those really help.
