I just can't stop spending money. I just got a ticket for the Pasta in the Park party. It's on Thursday this year.

My best to your daughter. My son ran his first and only marathon last year at WDW. He started about 45 minutes after I did and he finished over an hour ahead of me. I never saw him when he passed me around mile 12. He is in top shape and a very avid bike rider. But running just does not do it for him.

Hey Charles, Besides your training be prepared to run. Load up on gels and Cliff Shots. Be sure to take these in as you progress. Nothing worse than cramping up. See you at the finish line in the medal photo area!

Charles... My daughter, 18, is doing her first marathon and her goal is just to complete it. So I will be making sure we make it in together and helping her along as we go. We are hoping to come in around 6h 45mins with a stop or tow for photos with the characters. You are welcome to join us.

btw... Wonder Woman will be with us too.

I'm hoping to finish this year, but it will be a challenge as I'm a very slow runner.  I attempted the Dallas White Rock Marathon last year and dropped out at mile 18.  This year, I believe I can finish, but just barely in the time allotted.  I want that finisher's medal. :)

T minus 30 days and counting!!!!! Only two weeks till my taper time. Taper Time is the most wonderful time of the year. Andy Williams needs to change his song...

Hi Tracy...I had the same trepidations before I did the Goofy this year, but followed everyone's advice, bundled for the crazy cold this year, and came home with three medals clanking...You could train with the "wing and a prayer" method that works well for some...you know who you are...or work your way up. It really is an endurance event, very crowded as well. So you aren't there to set records, just finish and have a great time! This pic of me was with Buzz during the Donald, as you can tell I like to have fun! Mr Incredible, who also did the Goofy for his fourth time in a row, and I will be going to Disneyland in September for the Coast to Coast medal as well. So keep your goals simple...train to have fun, not get hurt, and FINISH! We will also more than likely do with unofficial tricounty trifecta...Romeo to Richmond HM, Brooksie and Detroit Free Press HM

I did my 1st Goofy in 2007. The only race that I did before that was the Inaugural Disneyland Half Marathon a few months earlier. At the Goofy I ran/walked everything... the 5k, half and the full. I had blisters and was really sore for 3 days... to much to fast.

Then during the rest of 2007 I did 4 more marathons before my next Goofy. I found getting a marathon under your belt helps. I did do the Rocket City Marathon about a month before my next Goofy. Wonder Woman did the Detroit Free Press Marathon 2-1/2 months before her 1st Goofy this past January.

Try to find a marathon that will work with your timing. A month before my be too close for the Goofy. Try to find something about 6 - 8 weeks before the Goofy. That way it will give you time to recover and get ready for the Goofy.

I did Goofy this year. I think if you get into marathon shape you can do the Goofy. You won't set to personal records back to back. On the half don't go all out. Just a nice jog and maybe even walk a bit. Get your Donald medal and go to the hotel and rest and eat and hydrate. On Sunday do the full. Don't go all out, pace yourself and should finish. Use lots of goo packets and hydrate a lot. But I think the big key is on Saturday. As soon as the half is over get off your feet and rest, rest rest. Have people bring food and drink to your hotel room.
