Humans were made to run - LONG!

This is an audio story from NPR leading up to the NYC Marathon about how and why we were made to run long distances. Good for your body and brain. (As if we didn't know that!)

Finished my 1st 50K yesterday. (www.blueskymarathon.com)

Very technical trail. Mile 2-4 from 5,500 feet elevation to 6,925 feet elevation. 4,543 feet total elevation gain/4,529 feet total elevation loss.

I stepped on a loose rock at mile 5, rolled my ankle and went down. Hobbled the "last" 26 miles.

#1 in my age group! (I beat the other guy...there were only 2 of us!)

A lot of you seem to be in Michigan. I will be in Kalamazoo August 24-26 and Lansing August 27. Anyone in that area up for a run? Any recommendations for a group run or a nice trail?

Go with the Garmin.

Garmin say 21 miles. Nike+ says 20.15. I'm going w/ the Garmin! 3:18. Who can tell me now the Nike+ (is supposed to) work?

Hey all you who run long for fun. Our running and twitter friend @rawdomer and his wife Jeanine need our thoughts and prayers. We are runners, running is what we do best. Let's all dedicate our long runs this weekend to them. And thank God that we get to run today.

just did 7 miles along the albany/berkeley waterfront. should have rested today from yesterday's 32 mile bike ride in the wind and rain...but it WAS NOT raining today and i couldn't let it go to waste.

Up and down Jefferson in St Clair Shores and Grosse Pointe. I just do a series of 3, 4, or 5 mile out-and-backs from my house and grab some water/gatorade each time I get back to my house. My neighbors probably think I'm nuts!
