Have a great run on Sunday everyone! If you're going to the expo tomorrow afternoon look for the goofy guy in the Just Finish T-shirt...that would probably be me!

Kevin...I'm sort of in the same boat as you with the lack of training...my knee has really been giving me fits....Oh well...like you said...I'll finish! I would love to meet you! I will likely be at the expo a little earlier, because I have my Team Hole in the Wall party from 3-5 at the Roosevelt Hotel...family and friends are welcome....Not really a party exactly but they will have snacks and a motivational speaker....Paul Newman's daughter spoke last year and a couple of other people...not sure what we are doing for dinner...whatever is...um...not too expensive!

My training was going great until last Saturday -- the day after my long run, I could barely walk. I went to the doc on Monday and discover I have a torn meniscus! Surgery is a possibility. In the meantime I'm sidelined and have postponed my New York entry until next year. Good luck to everyone who is running!!

Everyone ready for Sunday? I'm not sure what to expect due to my lack of training the last 6 weeks (stupid calf injury!)...but I know I'll FINISH!

I'm flying in on Saturday (arrive at noon), shuttling to my hotel (Hotel Mela), heading to the expo (3-5 ish) and then the pre-race dinner. I'll be by myself and if anyone wants to join me at the expo or for dinner let me know.

I'm finally making plans and was wondering if any guys would like to split a room with me on Friday and Saturday night? I'm leaning towards the Shoreham at this point.

How much budget to you have (gas, tolls, parking, hotel ...)? Besides where to stay, there are logistics to consider. Race starts on Staten Island and ends in Central Park. If you stay in a hotel in NYC you could spend up to 200-300 for a night or more. NYRR has buses to SI starting around 5:30 on 5th Ave in the 40s. You could also stay in NJ or LI but arranging transportation to SI may not be as easy. There is an NJ site for buses and my running club has buses from LI. Clearly flying is faster and beats all the driving, particularly after the race but then it also costs more.
