I now have my hotel reservations in place. I'm arriving on Jan 5th. Spending that Wednesday and Thursday night in the Hilton Inn next to Down Town Disney. Then on Friday I move over to the Grand Floridian. For the last two years I have stayed there. At 3 in the morning there are about 6 of us waiting for the monorail operator to unlock the doors. We leave the hotel at 3 and arrive at Epcot around 3:45. Its a really neat ride. It's very dark and as you approach Epcot you see thousands of cars lining up to park. The monorail really is the way to travel on marathon weekend. I've got to run the Goofy Challenge to make up for all the dining out. Friday at Portobello's. Saturday it's spaghetti at Tony's in the Magic Kingdom. Sunday's victory dinner is at Le Cellier Steakhouse in Epcot. I am staying for Marathon Monday and flying back on Tuesday.

I just paid up for the Race Retreat. It's a lot of money, no way around that. But last year when it was 30 degrees outside, it was 60 in that tent. This is a very large tent that has chairs and food. It opens at 3 AM and closes a couple of hours after the race is over. This is a very expensive gift to myself.

The tow are definitely Goofy...and I am pretty sure adding the 5K should equal all the dwarfs..although "Dopey" is pretty accurate and can't think of anything better....

I am officially registered for the Goofy. Thinking about starting my "Wing & a Prayer" training when I get to Florida. A few days before Christmas not in January as in the past.

I also see the opportunity to do the Florida Marathon a week before WDW Marathon Weekend and the Museum of Aviation Foundation Half Marathon (GA) the week after Disney.

I think adding the 5 k is unofficially called the "dopey", although dwarf it is not. Just not adding it as have had some unexpected expenses, ie roof and furnace boiler and pipes that had to be replaced in the past month. Not this year, anyway. That's why a roommate would be awesome.

Ok guys...it is official and I am going. Even have the hotel booked...now the serious training begins....after my pulled ham starts feeling better...Cant wait.

Hi Chris and Kyle! Yes, it doesn't get better than doing the "Dopey". I am thinking of doing that this year! But...are you both going to get Goofy in a "suit"?
