Hi! I'm Pauline, originally from Scotland, but been living in England for 16 years (I have no idea where the time goes!). I have two sons, aged 9 and 10 who keep me busy most of the time (perhaps that's where a lot of the time went!!) Decided to run my first 10K in August this year and am at present 4 1/2 weeks into training. I'm finding it a bit of an uphill struggle both mentally and physically at the moment, but am determined to get there and, as so many of you have said - just finish! Thanks for all the support and motivation so far - it's great to be in such good company!
Pam Leinmiller from Atlanta, GA
I run for fun and fitness and have enjoyed running an occasional 10K and one half-marathon each of the past 4 years, the last 3 of them with my daughter. For 2009 we are running the ING Marathon on March 29th together before she starts college later this year.
Hi Im Alba from Waxhaw, NC. Im a newbie to running. I cant say that I can "officially" run as I havent been able to run without stopping to walk. I've just joined a beginners running group where I graduated from a 1min run/1 min walk to a 2min run/1min walk. Today I did a little over 5 miles. Running was never a favorite sport of mine. Although I am very active in the gym - I work out 6 days a week (strength & cardio). Its very important to me to stay as fit as possible due to the fact that I was diagnosed with Mulitple Sclerosis in 2001. I have 3 children - ages 19, 17 and 14 and it's also important for me to show them that whenever they think they cant, they can. I've been married for 19 years to my best friend & rock who is also an Xterra Triathlete. He has also encouraged me to try running and he is just ecstatic that I've begun. It's true he wants me to switch to trail running but for now, I need to concentrate on learning how to run. Im glad I found this site. I know that it will help me to achieve my goals of doing my first 5k before Im 40 this September.
Ed from Wilmington NC, 1 hour up the coast from Myrtle Beach, SC. Planning on doing my first 1/2 Ironman this year. (www.beach2battleship.com awesome race!) My goal was.."don't die"....but "Just Finish" sounds better!
I'm Gina Harris from Aumsville, Oregon. I began running in 2006 at the age of 53! I am training for my first marathon on May 30th - the Newport, Oregon Marathon - http://newportmarathon.org/. I'm excited to get this far AND to be in such good physical shape for the first time in my life.
Dustin -aka "Sven of the North". I am from Waupaca, in central Wisconsin. My wife, Tammy and I have 2 boys, 3 girls and 6 grandkids. I've been a cyclist, runner, cross country skier as long as I can remember. I love to compete and am always looking for an event to enter. "Just Finish" has always been my main goal. Even if I didn't meet a time or some other goal, I am always happy to cross the finish line. In 20+ years of entering races I have only had 2 DNF's, both bike mechanicals beyond my control. Probably my proudest accomplishment.
Debbie from Montgomery County,MD. Live around 35 minutes from our nation's capital. Planning on training for my first marathon. Come run Marine Corp with me in October!!!
Hey everybody, sorry it took so long to post these pics, but here they are. I love the Just Finish community and the shirt is just AWESOME:)!! Thank you Kevin & Todd:)!!
