Well...YESTERDAY...I ran 3 1/2 hours just because. I have no earthly idea how far.I couldn't find my ipod and I did a new route. I am thinking 21/22 miles.
Sadly..I have to go to work.
However, hot yoga later.
On Friday I did 10 speed intervals on recumbent bike. Total workout 40 minutes a little over 10 miles.Average heart rate 137 with a peak of 156. Today I did upper and lower body strength training. Was able to increase number of reps on calf raises (and to think that a year ago I couldn't even do one on my left leg) and plies. Did lunges, squats, plies and calf raises. Upper body strength training -- keeping reps and weights the same -- as they are still challenging me.
13.5 miles on recumbent bike. Total workout 55 minutes - 45 minutes in cardio range - 125 average peak of 137. Great workout. Cold outside so thankful I can work out inside -
Today I did upper body strength training. Was able to increase reps on several of the exercises and feelin' sore -- but it's always so wonderful to watch the progress.
I banged out 7 miles on the treadmill, did some shoulder and bicep weight training, then did core strength exercises . . . I'm going to relax with a little LOST now!
I was frustrated by my daughter not being able to get a flight back to Boston due to weather conditions so I took out my frustration on my recumbent bike. I did 8 miles in 29:04 a new record. Total work out 40 minutes for 10.5 miles and for 30 min. intense cardio average heart 145 with peak of 159 - not bad for this 56 year old!
I went out in the snow and wind this afternoon (in Boston, MA) to brave the hills on the marathon course - I started at the BC T stop - ran to the base of the first hill on Comm Ave. (near the fire station), went up and down the hill 5X, then ran back to the peak of Heartbreak Hill before walking the rest of the way back to BC - was a tough go but felt great pounding up Heartbreak at the end of the run - can't wait to do it on April 19th! (really hoping there won't be any snow and wind that day, haha)
