Event Description

50 mile midnight fun run out and back (plus some) on the Macomb Orchard Trail. We'll start at 12:01 am on Saturday, May 14 in Richmond and follow the trail towards Rochester.

Here's a map of the trail:

This will be a "Fat Ass" run meaning no shirt, no medal, no entry fee, and little or no aid. We have a volunteer that will be a moving aid station throughout the night!

We will also have shorter options for those of you who would like to join us but not for the full 50 miles! If you're interested in these shorter distance please let me know.

Check back here regularly as I'll be adding details as I get them.

The Macomb Orchard Trail is 23.5 miles long. To get us to 50 miles, we'll add 1.5 miles of the Clinton River Trail to each direction.

Here's a map of the Clinton River Trail: http://www.clintonrivertrail.org/PDFs/CRTMap2008%20low%20res%20final.pdf

We'll turn around at that first parking lot after crossing Dequindre. We will have our 2nd aid station set up there!

I can be your moving aid station again!  I have no races that weekend.  It was pretty fun last year!

BTW, if Shannon does it again this year, we'll definitely put out a tip jar for her...we couldn't have done it without her last year!

Last year I was lucky and a fellow Just Finish member volunteered to be our moving aid station all night! She met us at the start and we all loaded our bags/coolers into her SUV. She then drove out to around the 12-13 mile mark and waited for us. We took what we needed and she then drove to the halfway/turnaround point and met us there. We repeated it another time at the first aid stop (mile 37-38) and then saw her again at the finish. It was the perfect setup and I hope to do it again this year.

Just out of curiosity, how does one support themselves for a 50?

a backpack? multiple fuel belts? hobo handkerchief on a stick?

JP, totally understand. Just so you know, this trail is entirely flat and it'll be a leisurely run/walk the whole way.

may not be possible, bc   i have a marathon overseas about 10 days later, and a 50 miler right before a marathon may not be a wise choice, as i am my wifes paceer for her 1st marathon but will keep you posted
